SJD in taxation Washington School of Law awards a doctorate in taxation. For accountants, this degree is designated Doctor of Taxation (D.Tax) or Doctor of Philosophy in Taxation. (Ph.D in Taxation) For lawyers, this is designated the Doctor of Juridical Science in Taxation. (S.J.D. or J.S.D.) This is a professional vocational degree available only to licensed Attorneys at Law, Certified Public Accountants, and Enrolled Agents. The candidate must have previously earned and been awarded a Master of Laws in Taxation, Master of Science in Taxation, or a Master of Accountancy with an emphasis in Taxation from this school or from an approved college or university which requires no less than 24 or more semester units.
